This is powerful, almost too powerful. How many of you feel hurt when you see this? How many of you feel sad for her or for people that will put her down for her body? Has society brainwashed us into making us believe this is “ugly” ? I dont know the answers, but maybe this will make you think twice.

This needs a male-photo companion.

^I agree.

I’m sorry but where’s the skinny version of this? Everyone’s quicker to put skinny people down now instead of bigger people.

Pardon?
Now, I wont deny that people who are ‘thinner’ do get a lot of hate. Yet— the fact that you look at this and automatically just label her ‘bigger’ just makes your point moot. By saying that— you generalized her and I can’t blame you because that is what society has programmed you to do. You are complaining about how victimized ‘skinny’ people are because you don’t see that you just auto-fucking-matically did the same thing to this ‘bigger’ woman by using that adjective because she is so many other things than ‘larger’ but society has made it okay to call just grant someone with the lovely term— ‘plus’ which is just another synonym for bigger or larger.
That doesn’t bother me. Someone calls me large? Fuck it. Yet— years ago, that would have crushed me and I know that other girls still feel that way. Thin, skinny, tiny— that is the norm. ‘Skinny’ is something a lot of girls blush over— bigger? Not so much.
So, please, don’t sit there and tell me that ‘everyone is quicker to put skinnier people down’ because— no, no they aren’t.
/end rather ignorant, unorganized rant that I will definitely receive hate for.
PS. THERE ARE A MILLION ‘SKINNY VERSIONS’ OF THIS FLOATING AROUND TUMBLR. THIS IS THE ONLY ‘LARGER VERSION’ I’VE EVER SEEN.

Okay. Well wait, what do you want to call her? She is not average. She is not healthy. She isssss large. I don’t understand why you want to soften the truth. Maybe it’s just me. Idk.

Agree. Tiny is not the norm, just as this is not the norm either. They are both unhealthy extremes and neither should be shamed. People hate overly thin people just as much as they hate on overly fat people.
Okay so I don’t understand why anyone SHOULD love fat bodies? The reason why so many people hate them, is because it’s fucking unhealthy and disgusting. I know that sounds rude, but it’s true. Do you think that it’s healthy to have a bunch of access weight on you? No. It’s not. That’s why when you see a person who is overweight, your brain automatically tells you “That is bad. That is gross. That is unhealthy”. If you look at someone who is thin or in shape or whatever, you’re less likely to think that person is unhealthy (unless they are severely underweight of course) because it’s obvious they are not shoving disgusting, fattening food into their bodies. Obesity is a fucking epidemic, and we’re supposed to look at someone who is overweight and love their body? I do not think so. Now I do agree it is unhealthy to be underweight as well, but I personally cannot imagine looking at someone who is overweight, who PUT themselves in that position, who doesn’t bother to take care of themselves and get healthy and lose the weight, and saying “What a beautiful body.”

Ah, no it isn’t healthy but neither is being extremely thin. Anyhow, health can be achieved at any size and that is a fair argument. But the fact that you have this mindset— completely blows my mind. You just proved my point. You are hating on her because her body isn’t ascetically pleasing to you. You should love ‘fat bodies’ because you should love every body. Why does someone’s outwards appearance dictate their worth?
Fucking ignorant bitches. Stop fucking contradicting yourselves. Sure, freedom of speech and all of that lovely jazz but if you are going to say something— say something of worth and then fucking validate it. I’m never looking at this photo again because I’m about to go ballistic.

I’m 220 pounds, and people think that I’m unhealthy because of my weight. Although if you line up my uncle, cousins, and me I’d be the healthiest. I am in perfect health, while one of my cousins who is just a few years older than me has cholesterol problems and she’s 130lbs, and my uncle got diabetes when he was thin and in his mid 20’s.
I have no blood pressure problems, no diabetes, my cholesterol is pretty awesome, and there’s nothing medically wrong with me. I work out, eat healthy, and I drink a shit ton of water. Size, and weight does not measure your health or worth.
I’m 220 pounds of pure awesome, and if you seriously think that X amount of weight is the pinnacle of health then you’re doing it wrong.
